Solflare launches the Privacy Aggregator layer and Private Send — a new option inside the wallet that allows users to transfer crypto with added privacy, directly from the familiar Send flow.
Since blockchains are transparent by design, privacy on public blockchains has always required trade-offs.
Like most public networks, Solana makes transactions transparent. Wallet balances, transaction history, and wallet-to-wallet transfers are visible on-chain. While transparency is one of the keys to decentralization, it is understandable that this level of exposure is uncomfortable for many users.
Today, we’re introducing a new product layer designed to address that.
Solflare Privacy Aggregator
The Solflare Privacy Aggregator is the first privacy aggregation layer built directly into a self-custodial wallet on Solana.
It’s designed to support privacy features inside the Solflare wallet, starting with Private Send. Over time, more privacy-related features and partners will be added under this layer.
Instead of adding a single privacy provider as a standalone feature, Solflare is building a foundation that allows multiple privacy solutions to be supported over time. This means users don’t need to think about which provider to use – Solflare handles the integration inside the app and provides the user with the best privacy-centric option.
Private Send is the first feature powered by the Privacy Aggregator, and at launch, the Privacy Aggregator works with Houdini as its first privacy provider.
Introducing Private Send
Private Send is integrated directly into Solflare’s existing Send flow on both mobile and web. It allows users to transfer supported tokens without publicly linking their wallet to the recipient’s wallet on-chain.
Here’s what happens when Private Send is enabled:
- The direct connection between the sender’s wallet and the recipient’s wallet is hidden
- The transaction is still visible on the blockchain (including the amount)
- The sender can track their activity from within the Solflare wallet
Private Send is completely optional and turned off by default. You enable it per transaction, inside the Send screen.
Before confirming, the app clearly shows:
- the applicable fee (determined by the integrated privacy provider with no additional fees from Solflare)
- the estimated processing time
For the transfer to be processed privately, it goes through a short processing period and is completed in a matter of minutes. The estimated time is clearly shown in the app before you approve the transaction.
Solflare does not add any additional fees. Any applicable fees are determined by the integrated privacy provider and displayed upfront.
The experience stays simple – you only choose to send publicly or privately.
Why privacy matters
The transparency of public blockchains can create real concerns for different types of users:
- Power users and large holders may worry about doxxing, targeting, or unwanted visibility
- Businesses do not want treasury movements easily traceable to specific wallets
- Everyday users may simply prefer that sending funds to friends or family does not expose their balances
Until now, users who wanted more privacy had to rely on workarounds – managing multiple wallets, routing funds through exchanges, or using external tools with disconnected user experiences.
With this release, Solflare becomes the first major Solana wallet to integrate privacy-enhanced transfers directly into the core send experience.
How the Privacy Aggregator works for users
From a user perspective, nothing complex has changed.
When choosing to send privately, the Privacy Aggregator routes the transaction through the currently integrated provider. As more protocols are added, the Aggregator will evaluate available routing options internally. The goal is to give users access to evolving privacy options without requiring them to manually choose providers.
Solflare handles the integration inside the wallet. You simply choose if you want to stay private.
Important to note: Private Send improves privacy by breaking the on-chain link between the sending and receiving wallets. The activity will still appear in your wallet, but nobody on the outside can trace the funds from the sending to the receiving wallet.
