Overbought describes an asset whose recent gains have pushed a momentum indicator above a commonly watched threshold. On the Relative Strength Index (RSI), this usually means a reading above 70. It does not necessarily mean the asset is overvalued or about to fall. Strong trends can stay overbought for extended periods, so the reading isn’t a sell signal on its own.
